Keystones and DEN Pre-Conference

Wow! What an exciting and jam-packed four days at Pete&C. On Sunday, Tom McGee and I headed the Keystones Pre-Conference full-day event. We partnered with DEN for an amazing day of Digital Storytelling workshops. Tom and I presented Get Interactive with Glogs, Voicethread, & the DE streaming Builders. The session ROCKED... if you happened to miss it, here's our resource page. We're hoping everyone gained a whole new view of all the possibilities with using the Builders!
We ended our day with a Keystones and Admin meeting in Magnolia C. We came together for our lighthouse activity, where we identified barriers and together shared how to overcome them within our own districts. How do you overcome the obstacles you face with technology in your district?

Here's a quick highlight from Monday...
If you attended Kim (Adair) and I's session titled Extreme Home Makeover, Web Edition... you got a glimpse of Glogster. I say "glimpse" because... wouldn't you know, Glogster.com/edu was DOWN for MAINTENANCE during our entire HANDS-ON session. :P
It was very disheartening and unfortunate for our attendees. However, hopefully we shared some informative information concerning the site and inspired many to try it out on their own! Here's a quick tutorial if you happened to miss it there!

Next up... was my session Improving Elementary Writing Through Art and Animation. ( Sighs ) here! This was the point of the conference where my computer decided to crash on me. *And eventually I come to find out that my charger no longer worked* However... given the circumstances with having to use another computer, I shared some Blabberize pieces and how-to guides with the audience. Check out my Blabberize tutorial here! I appreciated the kind words and support with the technical issues. :)

After a quick lunch break... I geared up for my final session that I was Co-presenting with Adam Controy, titled Connecting Content with Google Earth. What a great way to end an eventful "tech" morning. We had a great group of attendees who were interested in, and motivated by our session. We provided examples of an intermediate (Rev. War) and primary (Frogs) tour... Check them out here.

So... with the busiest part of the day out of the way... I headed to watch the streaming of Kristin Hokanson's Copyright and Fair Use session, and then headed to Chocolate World for the Promethean Party.
